October 21st – 27th is Pharmacy Appreciation Week
The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) has constituted the week of October 21 – 27 to be National Pharmacy Week, celebrating pharmacists and traveling pharmacists across the nation. The celebration coincides with National Pharmacy Day, backed by the Pharmacy Technician Educators Council (PTEC) and the American Association of Pharmacy Technicians (AAPT), to be observed on October 7th.
Healthcare facilities across the nation will be extending gratitude for the dedication and contributions pharmacists and techs make throughout the year.
Celebrating the invaluable support of pharmacy professionals
National Pharmacy Tech Day began in 2015, when Lindsey Ahrens submitted approval for with the National Day Committee. Such a day is celebrated the 3rd Tuesday in October of each year, as gratitude and recognition goes out for the important role that pharmacy techs, students, and interns play in the medical field.
Pharmacy Week is celebrated October 15 – 21, 2017, catering to all the pharmacists and techs that take pride in educating patients and making sure medication is administered safely. This is a wonderful opportunity for medical professionals and the public to show appreciation of their pharmacist community by sharing your support in word or deed.
